Bradley C. Ratliff, Esq.

Bradley C. Ratliff, Esq., is a Virginia licensed attorney with significant background and experience in personal injury cases, Virginia workers' compensation, estates, elder law matters, real estate, and civil practice. In addition to his membership in the Virginia State Bar, Mr. Ratliff is admitted to Federal Courts in the Western District of Virginia, and United States Bankruptcy Court. Mr. Ratliff holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Bluefield College and a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University/Medical College of Virginia. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from the Appalachian School of Law. As a lifelong resident of Southwest Virginia, he regularly appears in the state courts in the counties of Tazewell, Buchanan, Russell, Washington, Bristol, and Bland and in Federal Courts in the Western District of Virginia. Mr. Ratliff also serves as the Town Attorney for the Town of Richlands, Virginia, as well as Town Attorney for the Town of Pocahontas, Virginia, and as counsel for the Southwest Virginia Regional Recreation Authority, aka "Spearhead Trails." Mr. Ratliff is recognized nationally as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers Association (2016), won "Best Attorney in Tazewell County" in the Richlands News Press 2017 Reader's Poll, recognized as "Viewer's Choice Attorney 2017" by WVVA television, and has an AVVO rating of 9.1 (Superb). Natasha L. Ratliff
Practice Administrator
Ms. Natasha Ratliff is a Certified Paralegal and Practice Administrator of the Firm. Ms. Ratliff possesses extensive experience in commercial and residential real estate closings, personal injury claims, and numerous general practice matters. She has over twenty (20) years of legal experience and has served as a Legal Collections Manager providing representation of large accounts with regional banks, in medical claims on behalf of both large and small medical providers, hospitals, and landlords. She is skilled in management and policy development, providing supervision and oversight of all firm operations and personnel. Ms. Ratliff is engaged in the community through various activities and serves on the Board of Directors for Mountain Kids, Inc., participating in policy development and major decision making of a non-profit organization "committed to improving the lives of children" in, and around Tazewell County" http://www.mtkids.org/. Jeffrey W. Stowers, Jr., Esq.

Jeffrey W. Stowers, Jr., Esq., is a graduate of the Appalachian School of Law. He graduated with honors, Cum Laude, and Dean’s List. While attending ASL, he obtained over 100 hours of mediation training. He holds the “Lawyer as a Problem Solver” Mediation Certificate and is certified in Civil Litigation. Mr. Stowers obtained his undergraduate degree in Political Science and History from King University in Bristol, Tennessee. Additionally, Mr. Stowers has two published articles: One in the American Indian Law Review coming out fall, 2016 and the other in the New Criminal Law Review coming out in 2016. Mr. Stowers is admitted to the Virginia Bar and practices regularly in all Southwest Virginia Courts, focusing primarily on Family Law issues, including but not limited to, divorce, child custody, and more, and criminal law. Kristen N. "Nikki" Lawson was born and raised in Southwest Virginia. Ms. Lawson is a recent graduate from the Appalachian School of Law where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree. While attending Appalachian School of Law she was a staff editor of the Appalachian Natural Resources Law Journal, the Judging Vice-Chair of the Moot Court Executive Board, the secretary and treasurer of Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, and she received the Book Award for Employment Discrimination and Dispute Management. Ms. Lawson completed her undergraduate studies at Radford University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice along with two minors in Communications and Political Science. Stephanie Shortt
Paralegal
Ms. Shortt serves as the Administrator of The Ratliff Law Firm's Collections Division. She manages all accounts referred by numerous clients, including but not limited to banks, financial institutions and lending companies, physician offices and other medical practices, as well as numerous other clients. She serves as liaison between clients and the firm in all collections matters. She is also responsible for filing suit in all cases requiring litigation by preparing pleadings, responding to discovery, and doing litigation preparation for General District and Circuit Court matters. Stephanie has an eight year background with the General District Court of Tazewell County. While working with the Court, Ms. Shortt worked with the traffic and criminal divisions but her main focus was the processing of civil cases. Ms. Shortt handles supervision of the collections department. She provides legal support services on behalf of the firm and is a Virginia Notary Public. Stephanie@ratlifflaw.net
